Rent is based on 30% of gross adjusted income. Criminal and credit reports are part of the screening process.

Fitts-Powell Apartments

Opened in 1993, Fitts-Powell was the first HUD-constructed apartment complex in the United States with a preference for individuals living with HIV+. Named after two original board members, this quiet complex has 10 one-bedroom and 4 two-bedroom apartments.

  • All units include electric range, refrigerator, washer, and dryer
  • On-site Community Room for meetings and social activities
  • Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and local transit
  • Pets are allowed (one per household, deposit required)

Blevins-Too Residence

Affordable, Independent Living:
The Blevins Too House, managed by ACRA (Affordable Community Residence Association), offers supported, independent community living specifically for elderly persons and persons with disabilities in Durham.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Target Residents: Must be an elderly person or a person with a disability.
  • Independent Living: Residents must be capable of managing their own medications and daily personal care needs.
  • Affordability: Residency is subject to income-based eligibility following Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8 guidelines.

The Blevins Too House provides a welcoming environment with a focus on ease and accessibility:

  • Six Private, Furnished Bedrooms available for rent.
  • Common Areas: Shared, spacious kitchen, living room, and den.
  • Connectivity: Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided throughout the house.
